About Us
For over 15 years, Alaska Trails has worked to grow a system of world-class trails in Alaska for all Alaskans – helping build trail groups and advocacy across the state. Alaska Trails does this work on multiple levels, from supporting on-the-ground trail projects, to building a trails volunteer program, training and education, and the ambitious statewide Alaska Trails Initiative. Alaska Trails is the only statewide group providing advocacy and support for all Alaskan trails, winter and summer; motorized and non, on land and water. Our supporters and partners represent a cross section of trail user groups, businesses, government agencies, community organizations, and individuals.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Trails bring our communities together. Whether it's hiking and biking with your kids or exploring the many miles of trail in your backyard or the backcountry, trails are the backbone of Alaska life. Every Pick.Click.Give donation helps advocate for, maintain and build Alaskan trails statewide. We envision connected, sustainable trail systems across the state, uniting communities and building economies. To reach these goals, Alaska Trails works statewide with a broad cross-section of people and organizations, including trail user groups, businesses, government agencies, elected officials, community and economic development organizations, regional tourism marketing groups and individuals. With these partners, Alaska Trails makes the broad case for the value of trails, and helps match specific trail projects with funding, tools, trainings, and trail crews and volunteers. The result is new and improved trails statewide, to be enjoyed and benefit Alaska now and for generations to come.
