How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

The Alaska Zoo appreciates your generosity as it truly helps us feed and care for the animals of the Zoo. The Zoo provides educational programs, and fun save events for our of town visitors and, our community. As you can imagine, food for the animals is expensive. For example, it costs about $ 9,500/year to feed the bears, about $7,000/year to feed two tigers, and another $4,000 each year to feed the wolves. These animals are big eaters!

Last year, more than 40,000 people participated in programs provided by our education department on zoo grounds and through our distance learning program. Each week, we provide story time and sing along programs, free for toddlers. Our outreach program visited schools, nursing homes and community organizations, and the distance learning program reached students all over Alaska and as far as Alberta, Canada; New York, Maine, and Vermont.

Thanks to donors like you we are able to keep our doors open 363 days of the year and provide enriching, fun and one-of-a-kind opportunities to connect with the animals of the Arctic and sub-Arctic. Thank you for making it all possible.
