About Us
The mission of the Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association is to support and empower people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and to work toward the elimination of HIV infection and its stigma in all Alaskan communities.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
The Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association (Four A's) was formed in 1985 as a support organization for those living with HIV/AIDS. The primary location for the agency is Anchorage with an additional office in Juneau. In the 30 years since inception, Four A's has grown into the state's largest HIV/AIDS organization serving 91% of the state in two core areas: 1) Supportive services for those living with HIV/AIDS, and 2) HIV prevention and education.
Annually, over 260 individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS receive comprehensive medical case management, housing assistance, substance abuse and mental health counseling, transportation assistance, nutritional support, medication/insurance support, and other services through our Client Resources department.
HIV Prevention and Education services reach tens of thousands of community members each year, and the Four A's helps to reduce HIV transmission and stigma through programs such as free HIV testing, statewide condom distribution, educational presentations, empowerment programs, and syringe exchange.
Pick.Click.Give. contributions are essential to sustain all of these programs, ensuring that Alaskans with HIV/AIDS are able to live well with the disease, while also working toward the goal of a world free from HIV/AIDS and its stigma.
