How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Natural History Museum and Live Raptor Center
The American Bald Eagle Foundation is a Natural History Museum and Live Raptor Center, with Live Bird Presentations. We are NonProfit 501 (c) 3 Foundation located in beautiful Haines, Alaska, home of the largest concentration of Bald Eagles in the world.
Pick.Click.Give makes a difference as we rely on donations, memberships and volunteers to keep the foundation open. We give a home to injured Eagle, and other Raptors who cannot be released and have been permitted to the American Bald Eagle Foundation to be cared for as Education birds and the rest of their lives.
Just 2 blocks from the center of town, the American Bald Eagle Foundation is a must-see for visitors and locals alike. We are within walking distance from the Cruise ship docks. With frequent diorama presentations, and Live Raptor demonstrations, which include 2 Bald Eagles, 4 Owls, 2 Red tailed hawks, Raven, a Eurasian Eagle Owl and 2 Falcons,There is no better way to learn about the area's natural balance. Watch our Eagle Feedings at 10:30 in our Master Eagle Mew Pick Click and Give would make a difference in the expense of feeding our Raptors and continuing with educational programs. The Future
One of the Foundation’s objectives is to build a Research-Resource Center in Haines, close to the unspoiled natural laboratory of the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. The research and instruction made possible by this Center will help interested citizens become more knowledgeable about the American Bald Eagle, its environment, and other animals that share that environment.
Construction began in the spring of 2010 to build a 48 x 80 foot Raptor Center attached to the existing natural history museum at the Foundation. In 2013, the raptor center will house two bald eagles which will be available for the public to view in a large flight enclosure. 9 Outdoor Mews house other species of birds. These will be the birds that have been injured and are unable to return to the wild. Interpretive displays and educational bird programs will be held throughout the summer months.
