About Us
Camp Fire Alaska is a not-for-profit youth development agency. For more than 100 years, Camp Fire has evolved to meet the needs in our community and has provided a safe, nurturing place for families to send their children. At Camp Fire, children are not only safe, but are learning to develop self-confidence by challenging themselves, exploring their environment, and building healthy relationships. Today we are a leader in the youth development field and serve more than 5,000 youth every year through four key programs- Before & After School Programs, Summer Programs, Community Centers, and the Rural Alaska Program.

Thanks to the support from generous donors, Camp Fire is able to continue our mission, providing opportunities for youth to discover the best in themselves and others in a fun, safe learning environment. At the core of Camp Fire's work is the goal of helping youth thrive while preparing them for success as adults. Our programs also provide critical support for families, especially low-income working families, by providing affordable and engaging programming for kids during out-of-school time while parents are at work. These scholarships are available for both school-year and summer programs, and are covered solely through donations.
Additionally, support from donors through Pick.Click.Give. helps by providing scholarships to families in need of financial assistance, ensuring that a family's financial situation is not a barrier for a child to attend our programs. In 2020, 153 youth received scholarships totaling $165,524. In addition to scholarships, Camp Fire Alaska operates three Community Center Program sites in underserved areas of the Anchorage community, at no cost to families.
