About Us
Our mission is to improve the foster care system through sharing our experiences, supporting and educating youth and social services, and implementing positive change in society as a whole.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Facing Foster Care in Alaska (FFCA), is a grassroots organization working to empower current and former foster youth throughout Alaska. Over the last 14 years, we have empowered foster youth to promote improvements to child welfare, raise awareness in the community, and increase services to youth aging out of foster care. FFCA affords foster youth the opportunity to give constructive feedback to the system. Foster youth want nothing more than to be viewed as normal and fit in among their peers. FFCA gives foster youth that opportunity by offering them a statewide network of peer support, a sense of community, and a voice in improving Alaska’s foster care system.
Our work focuses on 3 main areas.
-Advocacy
-Training
-Peer Support
Pick.Click.Give supports our efforts to empower youth to speak up about life in foster care, and connect with their peers through shared experiences.
