Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre

About Us

The mission of Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre is to provide high-quality Shakespearean and classical theatre productions; to actively contribute to the Fairbanks arts community; to deepen appreciation of, and expand and diversify the audience for, Shakespearean and classic theatre in Interior Alaska, particularly among young people; to encourage and support young people in performing Shakespeare; and to build the capacity of Alaskans to perform Shakespeare and classical theatre.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre has been delivering high-quality theatre productions and educational opportunities to Alaska for over 30 years. Our outdoor summer shows and weeklong "Bard-a-Thon" Shakespeare reading have become fixtures in Fairbanks culture, while our Drama Camps have exposed hundreds of Fairbanks youth to classical theatre and the joys of performing.

However, these efforts don't pay for themselves. Ticket sales and other concessions don't figure much in our bottom line: for that, we depend in part on gaming revenue and in part on the financial support of Alaskan businesses and individuals. At present we are operating as an almost-entirely volunteer organization, with just one paid staff member. Your donations through Pick.Click.Give will be funneled right where it's needed: to costs like building and maintaining sets, or paying quality instructors for our drama camps.

FST has survived and even flourished for over 30 years. With contributions from Alaskans like yourself, we're looking forward to the next 30.
