KNOM Radio Mission Inc

About Us

KNOM Radio strives to entertain, engage, inspire, and inform the listeners of rural Western Alaska: from the Yukon Delta to the Bering Strait. A Catholic radio station, we serve as a faithful friend and companion on the airwaves: to provide news, entertainment, inspiration, and important local information.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

KNOM relies on individual donations throughout the year to stay on the air and broadcast each and every hour. (KNOM receives no federal or state subsidies.) Every dollar helps. Donations through Pick.Click.Give - big or small - really do make a big difference.

KNOM serves as a vital communications link for an isolated and rural area. KNOM does all we can to keep listeners informed and knowledgeable about what’s happening in their home village, their state, their country, and their world. In this vein, we work hard on objective news reporting, accurate weather and ocean forecasts, and comprehensive community announcements for the villages our signal reaches. Covering everything from the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to the latest whale harvest, the Alaska State Legislature to the development of regional resources, KNOM seeks to be a source of information - and a place to share - with people in Western Alaska.

As a Catholic station, KNOM's mission is to empower growth in our region by encountering Christ, embracing culture, and engaging the listener. Each donation through Pick.Click.Give. contributes to keeping KNOM on the air.
