How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Nine Star has 120 employees, trainees, and volunteers who provide education and employment services to 3,900 under- and unemployed Alaskans. The target population for services includes:
*High School Dropouts
*Public Assistance Recipients
*Individuals Whose Primary Language is not English
*At-Risk Adults who need employment support BEFORE they become dependent on government services
The goal is to provide employment readiness tools, job search support, and/or adult education instruction, GED testing, or high school completion instruction to move the at-risk Alaskan toward financial self-sufficiency.
Benefits for the Alaskans that Nine Star serves include more earning potential, economic stability, independence from public financial support, and increased self-worth.
