ANCHORAGE, AK — November 28, 2011 – Alaskans are inspired to support important nonprofit programs through the annual Pick.Click.Give. program, and on Friday a group of artists will open an exhibit to share about nonprofit causes that inspire them. The #art4pcg show opens Friday, Dec. 2 at Kaladi Brothers Café in downtown Anchorage.

For the First Friday exhibit, twelve artists selected a cause-type to explore through their work to bring awareness to Pick.Click.Give. and the importance of charitable giving. The works on display will portray the artists’ views of health care, elderly services, libraries, animal rescue, education and other nonprofit causes.

The Alaska Tweets community has also been invited to this First Friday event. Two of artists selected for the First Friday exhibit are also active on Twitter: photographer Valette Keller (@valette) and painter Karen Whitworth (@karenwhitworth). If you attend this First Friday tweetup, the hashtag is #art4pcg.
