How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Every act of your generosity helps us further our mission. Community supporters like you enable us to offer experiences that represent our community, heritage, and life ways. Just as the legendary rivers of Bristol Bay provide bounteous salmon harvests, the museum provides shelter for fisherfolk to immerse themselves in the rich maritime heritage and culture that surrounds the watershed of the greatest salmon run in the world.
In the last two years, we made big strides to boost our interpretive exhibits, engagement programs, and presence of the historic building that houses our museum. these enhancements have increased the number of visitors like you that we serve and the length of time they spend with us. We welcome the opportunity to elevate the visibility of lived experience in Southwest Alaska by amplifying the history and culture of the wilds of Bristol Bay.
In 2024, we will be taking even bigger steps forward to improve our knowledge, documentation, and management of the primary objects, photographs, and documents in our collection. Advancing these initiatives will allow fisherfolk like you to deepen your understanding of the multicultural influences spurred by migration, exploration, and the industrialization of the last great salmon fishery on the planet.
Your story matters...If you are able, please consider donating to support our exhibits and programs in 2024...donating through Pick.Click.Give is a great way for Alaskans to support stories about the people of Bristol Bay.
