About Us
Mission: "Inspiring environmental stewardship and lifelong learning through experience, awareness, appreciation and conservation of the natural and historic resources of Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge."
Friends of Creamer’s Field (FOCF) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to provide educational opportunities and family programs at Creamer’s Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge.
FOCF provides various educational programs, free of charge, to the Fairbanks community and its visitors. Some of these programs include Spring Migration Celebration, Creamer’s Dairy Day, and the Tanana Valley Sandhill Crane Festival. FOCF also operates Camp Habitat, a nature ecology camp for youth ages 4-11.
In addition to educational programs, FOCF completes various restoration and accessibility projects around the refuge. In 2021 FOCF restored the letters on the barn and repaired the Boreal Forest Trail. We also contract with a local company to clean the outhouses on the refuge, keeping them open year-round.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Pick Click Give helps to make a difference in the quality of life for many people by providing a way to experience nature in our technological world. Nearly all of our operating funds come through donations. Although we operate on a State refuge, we receive no government money to provide our many year round free programs, nature walks, visitor center and community events. A donation to Pick Click Give allows us to continue our mission of getting the people of Alaska, and visitors to Alaska, OUTSIDE, discovering, learning and being excited about both the historical and natural wonders of our beautiful Creamer's Refuge--and from that, the natural world as a whole.
