To provide support to Anchorage area seniors 55 or older by identifying their emotional and socialization needs, plan and promote programs to meet those needs, and provide a range of services that directly and positively impact their well-being. We additionally provide information, referral and outreach as a part of our needs assessment process. While we offer a variety of assistance, we emphasize the need for socialization, entertainment, education and to help seniors not be lonely and remain independent.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Since 1975 Mabel T. Caverly Senior Center & Services has provided needed dental, van and emergency rental, utility and home/auto repair services to low-income seniors 55 and over.
DEAP Dental Program.Rita was able to get her teeth cleaned and three teeth fixed for the first time since 1987. She worked in Senior Housing for over 10 years and decided to apply at MTC herself.
VAN. Josephine rides the van mostly in the winter because she does not like to drive her car during rain and snow months. She loves socialization with other seniors by being on the van (not possible on Anchor Rides) and uses it for grocery and doctor's appointments. She attends MTC socials with 20-40 other seniors, hearing speakers on health or exercise, singing and socializing. Tom and Eric who alternate as van drivers, are very patient, nice and always there to accommodate their needs.
SENIOR PATCHES. Linda came to us after having been in the hospital for three months and just starting back to work. She was behind in her water bill with a threatened shut off in below-zero weather. MTC and a local church were able to assist her.Through Pick Click Give we hope to increase contributions this year to make our dollars for all three programs go further.
We have been keeping in touch with seniors through our PHONE PAL program for the past 15 years; i.e., to call specific seniors each week or more often to make sure they do not get depressed or lonely.
Thanks to donations like yours through Pick Click Give, MTC can provide Rita, Josephine, Linda and many others a better quality of life that allows them to stay in their homes as long as possible without depression due to the MTC activities that are available to them. We continue to participate in the Pick Click Give program and look forward to Alaskans taking care of their vulnerable parents and grandparents. Many of you have become seniors in the past year; it is the largest-growing population, with seniors not only choosing to stay in Alaska, but also coming back to Alaska. LET'S HELP THEM BE SAFE AND LIVE BETTER LIVES IN THEIR TWILIGHT YEARS.
Through Pick, Click & Give we hope to increase contributions this year to make our dollars for all five programs go further.
