NINE STAR'S GENERAL WORK IN EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT
- 2,088 At-Risk Youth and Adults were served at Nine Star in FY 2022
- 723 completed their job preparation and entered into UNSUBSIDIZED employment
NINE STAR'S WORK WITH PUBLIC ASSISTANCE CLIENTS
- 1,412 Public Assistance Clients served
- 401 gained employment
- 349 left the public assistance rolls
NINE STAR'S EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Increasing educational attainment and going to work not only strengthens the individual and their families, but it also strengthens Alaska's economy and the well-being of our community.
Because Nine Star staff came into contact with so many Alaskan neighbors who were not eligible for publicly-funded services, but who were on the brink of homelessness and/or the need for financial support and jobs, the Net-to-Ladder Project was born. The ultimate goal is to “catch” Alaskans before they become homeless and help them “climb” the career ladder to economic self-sufficiency.
