How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Funds from PickClickGive are used to sustain our home and community based services including home delivered and congregate meals, Island Cove Adult Day Program, chore, respite and Lifeline services. Senior Citizens of Kodiak, Inc. serves home delivered meals seven days a week, including holidays and on the road system. We contract with Kodiak Area Native Association to provide home delivered meals in the island villages. These hot, nutritious meals are for people who can no longer shop or cook for themselves and assures basic nutrition needs are being met each day for Kodiak seniors. Having home and community based services are instrumental in keeping people living independently for as long as possible with honor and dignity. Island Cove Adult Day Program is a structured and active program for people with dementia, those recovering from a stroke or those who need more monitoring during the day. Island Cove is open seven days a week and is a vital service for seniors and family members. Congregate meals are served five days a week. Lifeline services, chore and respite assist seniors and their families with the help they need to remain independent. We also are the agency who is the provider for the Kodiak Area Transit System-KATS which is the only handicapped available transportation in our community. KATS operates as a dial a ride system and seven days a week.
