Tanana Valley Sportsmens Association, Inc., is a non-profit organization that was incorporated in 1937. Over the years the mission has changed from one of intense local study of impending conservation legislation to primarily teaching Interior Alaska youth in the safe handling of firearms. TVSA also offers personal protection classes and the range is used by several local high schools, biathalon clubs and the University of Alaska Nanooks Rifle Team for practice sessions and matches. Several youth have progressed through the years to the Olympic stadium and have received multiple scholarships. The classrooms and ranges are also used by various law enforcement agencies for qualification purposes and training of their personnel, as well as by the Alaska International Senior Games.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
PCG donations are used to better improve the classrooms/ranges and keep them updated with the latest electronic targeting systems, in keeping TVSA in sync with the University of Alaska ranges so they are compatible. The original TVSA Clubhouse burned down in 2007 and we have been rebuilding ever since primarily through volunteer donations of labor and state grants of monies.
