About Us
The Alaska Mens Run is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to fighting prostate and testicular cancer. Prostate cancer is the leading cancer cause of death in men. Prostate cancer diagnoses each year exceed those of breast cancer in women. Prostate cancer is treatable if caught early. While testicular cancer is relatively rare it often strikes young men in their prime.
The Alaska Mens Run is a collective voice for all prostate cancer groups in Alaska and is affiliated with the National Alliance of State Prostate Cancer Coalitions.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
The Alaska Mens Run does not use professional fund raisers.
We are dependent on the donations we receive from Pick, Click, Give, along with our Run Sponsors, Run participants, and other individual donors.
Our primary use of funds are Individual Grants to Alaska men diagnosed with prostate or testicular cancer and who may need a little financial help. We also grant funds to Alaskan groups involved in the fight.
The Alaska Mens Run also finances and staffs prostate cancer awareness booths at The Alaska Sportsman Show, The Alaska Womens Show, The Bear Paw Festival and selected Health Fairs.
The Alaska Mens Run is pleased to help US TOO Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula Prostate Cancer Awareness Group in their efforts in education and man-to-man support.
