How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Most of the funds PMP receives will be used to operate the Pioneer Museum and Big Stampede Show. The museum does not charge for entry, but does request donations from visitors. The museum also contains a small gift shop. The Big Stampede Show of Rusty Huerlin paintings, narrated by Reuben Gaines, has a small admission fee. These attractions are staffed by paid docents who act as greeters and guides. PMP has a full time paid office manager and a part time paid museum manager. Museum maintenance and archiving are done by unpaid volunteers.

The museum and Big Stampede Show are normally opened with volunteer staff in mid-March and April on weekends and four hours daily during May. From Memorial Day weekend through the third week of September both attractions are open daily with paid staff. School tours guided by volunteers are offered throughout the year upon request. in 2021, despite COVID limitations, 13,842 visitors signed in at the museum.

PMP participates in special events such as the Halloween Party in the Park, which in 2021 attracted about 3000 families to Pioneer Park.
