About Us
The reality of childhood cancer is that at least one parent likely loses much of their income while their child is in treatment for cancer. Many families are relocated to Anchorage or Seattle from smaller communities. There are so many added expenses not covered by insurance. If they are fortunate to be treated in their home city, the time needed to care for a seriously ill child is extensive and unpredictable. Through the hospitals' social workers and care providers, Katie's Handprint offers financial grants to Alaskan families whose children are currently in treatment for cancer. Our goal is to help ease some of the financial burden in an already emotionally devastating time.
