Pride Foundation

About Us

Pride Foundation is the only LGBTQ+ community foundation serving the Northwest region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. We fuel transformational movements to advance equity and justice for LGBTQ+ people in all communities across the Northwest, envisioning a world in which all LGBTQ+ people live safely and openly as our whole selves in the communities we call home.

Our work is grounded in social justice philanthropy. We are committed to:

• Harnessing our fundraising, grantmaking, program, and advocacy efforts to address root causes of discrimination impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
• Supporting community leaders and organizations that work to eliminate long-standing barriers to equal access, opportunities, and resources for LGBTQ+ people.
• Expanding and deepening the level of engagement among all LGBTQ+ people and allies, including people who are economically, racially, socially, geographically, or politically disenfranchised.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Since Pride Foundation's founding in 1985, we’ve invested more than $80 million in LGBTQ+ communities across the Northwest, including Alaska. Our 2023 grantees in Alaska include: Alaskan AIDS Assistance Association, AWARE, Choosing Our Roots, Covenant House Alaska, Identity Inc., Kachemak Bay Family Planning Clinic, NAMI Juneau, Native Movement, Tundra Women's Coalition, UTOPIA Alaska, and YMCA Alaska.

In the last three years, with the tremendous generosity of our supporters, Pride Foundation has:

• Moved $2.7 million in community grants to more than 100 LGBTQ+ organizations across our 5-state Northwest region—the first time that we’ve awarded multi-year grants, and the largest amount of grants we’ve ever awarded.
• Our 2023 scholarships awarded nearly $760,000 to 113 scholars, providing needed financial and community support to LGBTQ+ students.
• After over two years of grantmaking and the awarding of nearly $1 million through our Crisis Community Care Fund, we’ve relaunched it as our new Community Care Fund to respond to ongoing community needs, hopes, hurt, harm, and healing.
• Expanded TRANSform Culture, our community advocacy, research and education (CARE) program, to an ongoing part of our work to elevate the stories and experiences of BIPOC trans and non-binary people across the Northwest.
