Partners for Progress

Mission Statement
To protect the public by 1) supporting therapeutic justice statewide, 2) assisting addicted offenders to make the changes needed to achieve a healthy and law-abiding life, and 3) supporting cost-effective programs that reduce criminal recidivism.

Partners’ Reentry Center receives homeless ex-offenders, often on the first day they are released from prison, and provides assistance with temporary housing, transportation and other requirements to become self-sufficient members of the lawful community. Partners offers a hand up, not a hand out. Assistance is conditioned on participants doing their part by finding and keeping a job. By attending courses at our job lab, peer support groups and case management sessions, many succeed.

Partners’ other program, Therapeutic Court Assistance, was started in 1999 with Judge James Wanamaker and the Municipality of Anchorage. We now support therapeutic courts in hub communities statewide by providing transitional housing, non-addictive anti-opioid medication and other services that are outside the normal sphere of the court system.

Like many other small non-profits, Partners lacks discretionary funds or staff resources to put into fundraising events. The bulk of our funding is allocated to client services. For this reason, assistance from Pick.Click.Give is of vital importance to Partners.
Peer Support Groups: PRC hosts 3 weekly Peer2Peer groups. Average weekly attendance was 16 – 21.
MRT® behavioral modification treatment: Two groups are offered on Wednesday nights. Average attendance per group was 10. As needed, MRT ® is required of participants in the Vivitrol program.
