Alaska Innocence Project

About Us

The Alaska Innocence Project’s mission is:

o To identify, investigate, and exonerate individuals who have been wrongly convicted in the state of Alaska.

o To provide educational opportunities for advocates and for the public that foster a culture that champions the defense of the innocent.

o To suggest and implement policies, practices and reforms that will prevent wrongful convictions and hasten the identification and release of innocent Alaskans.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference

Pick.Click.Give has allowed the Alaska Innocence Project to serve our clients by covering the costs of investigation, testing and litigation. Presenting cases of actual innocence in the courts is both time consuming and expensive. While Pick.Click.Give cannot provide us with more time, it can help us pay for the cost of these cases. Many of the cases we work on are older cases where the evidence is difficult to locate and recover. If we don't have the funds to hire investigators to help interview witnesses, to undertake biological testing of evidence we locate, and to pay the costs of court cases, innocent individuals will sit in prison until we do. Donations through Pick.Click.Give help us to meet these demands in a more timely way, helping to bring claims of innocence before the courts in a fair way to all. Without this assistance our work would take much longer, if it happened at all.
