Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula

Our vision is to provide a world-class Club Experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kenai Peninsula began serving a small handful of kids in1988 who needed a safe and positive place to be during out of school time. Today, we have 8 Clubs including 3 Teen Programs across the Kenai Peninsula from Seward to Kasilof providing after school and summer academic and enrichment programs for youth ages 6-18. We also offer year round affordable athletic programs available to all youth regardless of skill level or ability. Our organization has over 2,000 registered members, serves approximately 4,000 youth annually and has 420 youth entering Club doors every day.

Our Club programs are built upon ‘Five Key Elements’ for Positive Youth Development in order to help Club members achieve success. They include a SAFE, POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT which promotes both physical and emotional safety and health every day; FUN is a requirement at the Club and it’s the main ingredient in our activity and programs; SUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIPS with staff members actively cultivate meaningful relationships with youth to ensure that every member feels connected; OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPECTATIONS where we create opportunities for success for our members and set clear expectations to promote excellence and ethical behavior; and RECOGNITION where Club members are recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to the Club every day. We also have five areas of focus in program delivery including Education and Career Exploration, Character & Leadership, Health and Life Skills, Sports, Fitness and Recreation and the Arts.

We feed kids! Our Clubs provide free and nutritious meals in our programs daily ensuring that no child will ever have to leave their Club hungry. In addition, we provide scholarships to families that need assistance and underprivileged kids who would not otherwise be able to participate.

Clubs and programs fill a vital need in our communities and we would not be able to serve our mission and our kids without the help from our generous donors, sponsors and programs such as Pick.Click.Give. Funds donated through Pick.Click.Give will be used in direct support of our mission and the young Club members that we serve.
