About Us
Kachemak Bay Broadcasting, Inc. provides news, information, and entertainment to foster community engagement.

How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
With community support KBBI is able to communicate meaningful stories and discussions of interest to our communities. The impartial and diverse state and national programming you hear on AM 890 puts these local discussions into a broader context, connecting you to the rest of the world 24/7.

KBBI brings our communities together and offers everyone an opportunity to have a voice and become engaged with their friends, community and local organizations. You hear members of our community hosting a variety of music and information programs. Our dedicated and hard-working news team brings you local news and information five days a week, and is prepared, with the rest of KBBI staff, to provide timely and accurate information in time of emergency.

KBBI is committed to serving our communities; our important services include emergency response capabilities, local and marine weather forecasts, Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly meetings, and live broadcasts of Homer City Council meetings though we are not financially supported by city tax dollars.

Stay connected with KBBI events, local music shows, special programs and more by visiting
our active Facebook page. You can tune in to KBBI’s live program stream anytime from anywhere via the link on our new website.

KBBI relies on the generosity of listeners like you to provide and expand our services while serving over 15 communities. There are a many hefty "behind the scene" expenses at KBBI necessary to bring you the programming you enjoy every day. Help us keep up with important broadcast equipment expenses including transmitter, backup generators, microphones, field recorders and the electricity to power everything you hear on AM 890.

With state funding cuts of $30,000 in 2015 and anticipating more cuts in 2016, local financial support is extremely important if KBBI is to continue providing our programming and services for you and thousands of listeners to enjoy. Strong local support translates into increased federal funding from CPB and helps us leverage grant support as well. YOU are an integral part of all that KBBI provides. Please choose KBBI as one of you PFD Pick.Click.Give recipients. Local public radio would not be here without your support!

Thank you!
