About Us
Located on the south shore of Lake Hood, just minutes from the airport, the Alaska Aviation Museum allows you to immerse yourself in a uniquely Alaskan aviation experience. Stories of bush pilots, early Alaskan aviation pioneers and some of the planes that helped Alaska grow into statehood are just some of the experiences the museum offers. The Alaska Aviation Museum is proud to honor Alaskan military aviation and the unique role our state has played in defending the U.S. The 75th Anniversary exhibit commemorating the Battle of Attu, tells the story of the significant battles of WW II that were fought on Alaskan territory and reflect the value and benefits of collaboration and partnership to preserve Alaskan history. A visit to the museum's restoration hangar demonstrates first hand, our commitment to the preservation and restoration of one of a kind aviation aircraft and historical artifacts.
