About Us
We provide mental health care services for children and adults experiencing mental health challenges. We serve ages from 2 years old to 72 (and older) with outpatient mental health treatment, including assessment and treatment planning, individual, group and family therapy, rehabilitation services, medication management, skill development, vocational training, case management and more. Some of our programs are better known by their program name. Little Tykes Therapeutic Services provides comprehensive wrap around services for children ages 2-5 and their families, in a structured, safe, secure, nurturing environment led by mental health professionals. The POWER Center (formerly Alaska Youth Advocates) runs a drop-in center for homeless and at risk youth in mid-town Anchorage, does street outreach to connect youth to services, and provides youth-produced and delivered educational presentations in the community. Alaska Seeds of Change is an indoor hydroponic growing operation in mid-town Anchorage, that provides on-the-job vocational training and mental health supports for transition age youth while producing fresh leafy green and herbs for the Alaska market. Rise vocational program provides pre-employment training services as several Anchorage high-schools and works with adult clients to meet their vocational goals.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Alaska Behavioral Health (formerly Anchorage & Fairbanks Community Mental Health Services) is the largest providers of community based behavioral healthcare in Alaska. We serve 4,000 Alaskans annually in Anchorage and Fairbanks. Your donation supports direct client care through the provision of supplies for therapy and activity groups, individual supports such as bus passes or basic household supplies, or outreach materials such as hand warmers or toothbrushes for homeless youth and adults. Currently, Medicaid and other insurance payment rates do not always fully cover the cost of providing services, and we have a sliding fee scale for our clients who do not have any insurance; donations help insure that we can continue to serve these clients. At Alaska Seeds of Change, donations are used to provide vocational training opportunities, leadership training, and life skills training ("adulting" classes) to our youth staff and interns. THANK YOU!
