About Us
“He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains!” Psalm 107:14
Our Mission:
To proclaim God’s redemptive and unfailing love to Alaska’s prisoners and form a bridge of transformation and hope as these “returning citizens” find their place in society.
Our Strategy:
To partner with the Department of Corrections Chaplaincy Ministry in bringing life-changing ministry and programs to prisoners and ex-offenders through the mobilization and equipping of Alaska’s faith community and by developing private sector funding to support state-wide ministry operations.
Our Ministry Scope:
Prisoners in all adult correctional institutions, pre-trial facilities and community residential centers statewide; and “redeemed citizens” who are in need of vital re-entry services and support.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
A testimony: "When I came to prison it was like falling into a deep pit. The lowest point of my life. I had no one to turn to, no friends or family to go to for help, and the only thing I could do was look up. All my life I felt like I had to earn God's grace in order for Him to listen to my prayers. My self-worth was based on what I have done. So I began to read the bible to earn God's grace and to find out how others got God to listen to them.
After reading the bible about six months, I soon realized that we can know for sure that we are going to heaven. Salvation is a gift from God.
I've been in prison for 5 and a half years. I spent about 1/3 of that time studying the bible. So now I am here in TLC, and I feel blessed. It really brings a whole new meaning to the word 'family' and 'brothers'. God's love has really shined here. Thank God.
Being here and looking into my past with a different outlook has opened my eyes to a lot. I now know what I did and what lead me into my poor choices. With this new information and the new tools I have learned I can now avoid certain situations that can be a threat of bringing me back into the poor paths that I once took before.
I pray that people who really have a desire to change have the same opportunity as we did. I thank God for being here."
We have 3 Transformation Living Communities in 3 of the correctional institutions and Faith Wings in more of the institutions. Housing is provided through a men's house & a women's house for transition back into the community. Many trained volunteers provide mentoring, bible studies, preaching and counseling to people in and out of the facilities all over the state through programs & on an individual basis.
