About Us
The Anchorage Concert Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1950 by a group of classical music enthusiasts who were committed to bringing the finest classical musicians to perform for the people of Anchorage.
Today, our purpose includes presenting internationally acclaimed artists from the entire spectrum of the performing arts in Alaska. Our public performances and outreach activities entertain, uplift, educate, and inspire audiences, students, and local artists.

You and a loved one have had tonight marked on your calendar for weeks. You made dinner reservations in advance because you know that on show nights it’s next to impossible to find a table. Just after 7 pm, you and throngs of others are headed into the theatre. Along the way to your seat you see friends, neighbors, or acquaintances you’ve made at other performances. By 7:30 you are in your seats, the curtain rises and the show begins. Alongside hundreds of other Alaskans, you experience the magic of live performance.
ACA has been expanding its programs beyond the wall of the performing arts center. Artists now go out into the community, traveling to schools, holding workshops, pop-up performances, house concerts, and more.
Students and teachers have gathered for something out of the ordinary: four visiting performers who have come to tell their story and share their talent. It’s a Thursday night and between 60 and 80 twenty and thirty-somethings have come together in an unfamiliar place to see an unfamiliar artist. The experience challenges their notions about live performance. Imagine being with community members and supporters of ACA in a local residence to see an intimate performance by an international vocalist and hear her talk about her music.
