Anchorage Schools Foundation

Anchorage Schools Foundation serves as a conduit to channel private philanthropic funds into Anchorage classrooms. With a mission to provide funding to enhance the success of Anchorage students, ASF pursues fundraising and grantmaking for projects and needs identified by teachers and staff. A field of interest fund of The Alaska Community Foundation, ASF is a vital part of education in Anchorage.

The Anchorage Schools Foundation uses private and individual funding, including gifts from Pick.Click.Give, to meet the ever changing needs of Anchorage classrooms.

Through its grants program, ASF awards funds to Anchorage classrooms to support projects that enhance the success of students in the Anchorage School District. These grants bolster a wide range of projects, including classroom supplies, recreational equipment, books, technology, after-school programs and other needs as determined by school district employees and not supported by the school district. Past ASF grants have supported the purchase of a rock climbing wall and funded three-dimensional math visual aids.

Through its Emergency Fund, ASF supports student’s immediate needs, such as clothing, school supplies, personal care items, bus tokens, and food – the most frequently requested support for students.

The Anchorage Schools Foundation is essential in engaging the Anchorage community in a relationship with its public schools that creates more flexible funding for genuine needs of the schools.
