How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Radio is powerful. Through it, Radio Free Palmer sheds light on the stories of the people in our community effecting our lives. We are one of the threads that connects our Alaskan community.
To this end, over 30 hours of our programming each week is produced by Mat Su Valley residents. Shows range from in depth discussions of local government actions to DJs sharing their love of music to stories from the community and local nonprofits. Over 30 hours of national shows complement our local mix.
We’ve entered into partnerships with
Alaska State Fair to broadcast daily from the Fair
Colony High School to broadcast a radio play each hear
Valley Arts Alliance to broadcast Valley Home Companion
Our live Internet stream of government meetings keep people informed. The recordings are available on our website, iTunes, and various podcast apps:
Mat Su Borough Assembly
Mat Su School Board
Palmer City Council
Recordings of our talk shows are also archived and available for later listening. Over forty volunteers produce shows, staff the office, stream meetings, engineer shows, fundraise, and more because radio is contagious and fun. New volunteers join us to learn how to do radio, staff the office, and run the back end because they too, want to build, inform and celebrate community through local radio.
Pick, Click and Give funds support this vital work.
