Clear Creek Cat Rescue is a group of volunteers in Southcentral and Kenai Alaska dedicated to rescuing cats in need and finding them happy homes. We rescue cats in danger from local shelters; we also take in homeless, sick, and injured strays as well as colony cats that need to be moved. In addition, we have recently contracted with the City of Houston to care for and adopt out all cats that come into their animal shelter. These cats are placed in foster homes until they can be adopted out to loving forever homes. We operate a "Barn Cat Project" to help find homes for colony cats. We also advocate to reform local shelters to provide more humane treatment for animals. We have no paid employees.
How Pick.Click.Give. makes a difference
Funds are used to rescue cats as well as provide the veterinary care needed to help each cat go to its new home spayed/neutered and in good health. We rescue more than 500 cats each year from local shelters as well as take in sick, injured and lost strays. We also operate our "Barn Cat Project": homeless feral and wild cats are trapped and relocated to barn homes where they provide a needed service of controlling unwanted rodents in return for supplemental food, shelter, and care. We assure that all of our adult cats are spayed and neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We provide whatever medical care is needed to help the cats be as healthy as possible before being adopted out. Vet bills can amount to tens of thousands of dollars each year. Because the cats we rescue are cats in crisis, they often have serious and life-threatening conditions that require extensive medical care. We consider every life to be precious and do our best to help every one survive and be healthy. Whenever financially possible, we also help private individuals with spay/neuter costs in order to minimize the number of unwanted and abandoned cats. We have NO paid employees. CCCR is operated entirely by unpaid volunteers. See more about our rescue at http://clearcreekcatrescue.org/category/ready-to-adopt/
