Downtown Hope Center

The Downtown Hope Center (DHC) serves the hungry and homeless in Anchorage. We do this through many programs, one being our Feed Me Hope Culinary Program (FMH). In FMH, students attend job skills class where they learn how to build a resume, apply for jobs, etc. They also attend life skills class where we address root issues and decisions that lead them to us. Whether that be homelessness, poverty, or formerly incarcerated. The students work in the kitchen where they help prep for the daily lunch service that feeds over 400 individuals and assist with dinner for the 55 women who stay in our homeless emergency shelter. We also have a shower house and a clothing closet. Monday through Friday, the homeless can come inside and get clothes from our clothing closet as they wait for a hot shower and have their laundry washed. The homeless community knows that we desire to see them succeed and heal. We are a beacon of the hope of Christ for the city of Anchorage. In January of 2022 we purchased an 18-unit apartment complex adjacent to the Downtown Hope Center that we renamed Suite Hope. Suite Hope is safe housing for our students in FMH along with women who are ready to transition from our Emergency Shelter to transitional housing. Suite Hope provides a safe home for women to heal as they address the trauma of abuse and addictions of all types. Owning this building is another step up towards helping people have Hope Restored, Hearts Renewed, and Lives Transformed.

When you donate to Downtown Hope Center (DHC) through Pick.Click.Give. you will help provide 112,000 meals annually, 550 showers monthly, 645 loads of laundry monthly, help shelter 55 women every night, and help in the employment of Feed Me Hope program graduates, which currently has a 90% success rate. Your donation will also help DHC pay off Suite Hope while providing apartments free of charge or at a greatly reduced rate for at least 18 individuals.
