Friends of Jensen Olson Arboretum

Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum supports projects and programs of the Arboretum through fundraising, public outreach, education, and organizing volunteers and docents at the Arboretum.

Pick Click Give donations have enabled Friends of Jensen-Olson Arboretum to support these programs and projects:
• Improved visitor access and toilet facilities. Our lovely Loo was completed in 2021.
• A roof over the potting area will be built in 2022 to keep the staff dry and happy.
• New words will be added to the “Garden in Words”. Here visitors are encouraged to arrange stones engraved with Tlingit, English, Spanish, or Tagalog words to create phrases and sentences; some lovely Haiku has happened here.
• Programs for families to explore the natural history of the arboretum: In 2021, we held "Family Beach Exploration" and "Bug Day.”
• Expanded training programs for volunteers and docents to increase public participation and enjoyment of the arboretum
