Pick, Click, Give benefits food bank
Peninsula Clarion
Thank you to the individuals who chose to contribute to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank via the Pick, Click and Give program. These Alaskans donated a portion of their 2009 Permanent Fund Dividend to help feed hungry Kenai Peninsula residents. The total contribution of $1,875 will help us process a million pounds of food this year at our facility located at the corner of K-Beach and Community College Drive in Soldotna. The Food Bank distributes food throughout the peninsula from Homer to Moose Pass via member agencies such as churches and other nonprofit organizations or directly to clients in addition to operating the Fireweed Diner which offers a hot meal.
In 2010, you too can contribute a portion of your Permanent Fund Dividend to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank or another approved charitable organization. For more information, visit pickclickgive.org. The Food Bank is very grateful to the Rasmuson Foundation for funding this pilot program and to the Foraker Group and United Way of Anchorage for their assistance and administration.
