ANCHORAGE, February 4, 2014 — Alaskans are sharing more of their PFDs than ever before with the average Pick.Click.Give. donation topping $100. That generosity has allowed Pick.Click.Give. donations to surpass $1 million. The Permanent Fund Dividend Division released a report showing that, as of midnight January 31, Alaskans pledged $1,042,650 to their favorite nonprofit organizations with the average donation at $103.
Nonprofits leading in Pick.Click.Give. donations so far:
- Bean’s Café – $61,475
- AK Public Media – $40,950
- Food Bank of Alaska – $33,925
- AWAIC shelter – $28,525
- Catholic Social Services – $28,025
Experts predict much larger PFDs this year and Pick.Click.Give. organizers hope more Alaskans will share some of the wealth with the 512 nonprofits on the list. Alaskans who already filed for their PFD but didn’t Pick.Click.Give. can still go back and add a donation by visiting the PFD website and logging back into their application.
