Anchorage, January 23, 2014 – There’s good news for Alaskans who already filed for their Permanent Fund Dividends (PFD) but were unable to donate to their favorite causes due to website glitches: Most of the issues are fixed and you can go back into your application and add or change your donations.

“We’ve heard from many Alaskans who couldn’t Pick.Click.Give. because of issues with the PFD website,” said Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager Heather Beaty. “We want to make sure that people who want to express their love for Alaska through their giving know that the system has been improved. It’s easy to go back to the PFD website and click on the green ‘Add or Change Your Pick.Click.Give. Donation’ button, and support organizations that help make Alaska a better place to live.”

While most of the glitches have been worked out, Beaty recommends filing and making a donation from a computer, not a mobile device or iPad as those devices are still having some compatibility issues.

Alaskans have until March 31 to file for their PFDs. Last year, more than 26,000 Alaskans donated a record $2.4 million from their PFDs. More than $7 million has been raised through the program since it began six years ago. This year, when dividends are expected to be larger than in the past few years, there are 512 Pick.Click.Give. nonprofit organizations to which Alaskans can donate. ANCHORAGE, December 31, 2013 – Alaskans are expected to receive much larger Permanent Fund Dividends in 2014 and Pick.Click.Give. hopes that, coupled with its new campaign, will increase donations. When they begin filing for their Permanent Fund Dividends tomorrow, Alaskans will notice a new theme. Pick.Click.Give. has adopted Lovalaska as its annual giving campaign, a theme connecting the pride Alaskans feel about their unique state with the importance of supporting its many nonprofits.

PCG did some research this past year and found that 78 percent of Alaskans know about the program, but only four percent donate; that those who have donated feel good about it; and that Alaskans take great pride in being Alaskan.

“Our challenge was to take this information and create a new campaign for Pick.Click.Give. that moves Alaskans from awareness to action by tapping into the love and pride we feel for our state,” said PCG Program Manager Heather Beaty. “We wanted to connect that pride to the importance of donating to organizations that make Alaska a better place to live. That was the genesis of Lovalaska.”

Experts predict PFDs could double and Alaskans have 512 Pick.Click.Give. nonprofit organizations in 50 communities to which they can donate this year. Last year, a record 26,000 Alaskans donated $2.4 million from their PFDs. More than $7 million has been raised through the program since it began six years ago.

Alaskans have until March 31, 2014, to file for their PFDs. For a complete list of organizations, and to filter by cause and community, visit www.PickClickGive.org.

Anchorage, December 11, 2013 – Alaskans will have more options to give back than ever before on next year’s Permanent Fund Dividend application. Pick.Click.Give. accepted 56 nonprofits to the 2014 donor list that were not part of the 2013 PFD giving program. The total number of Pick.Click.Give. organizations to which Alaskans can donate has grown to 512, up from 338 when the program started five years ago.

“We’re really excited that the number of Alaska nonprofits taking part in the program continues to grow,” said Heather Beaty, Pick.Click.Give. program manager. “Alaskans have shown that they are generous even when the PFD amounts are low. This program is a great opportunity for them to give back.”

This year, about 26,000 Alaskans pledged a record $2.4 million from their PFDs. The Pick.Click.Give. program started in 2009 with $545,000 in donations and has continued to grow each year. It allows Alaskans to share their PFDs with their favorite causes. Nonprofits have to reapply each year to become Pick.Click.Give. recipients. ANCHORAGE, April 2, 2013 Alaskans once again set new records in sharing their Permanent Fund Dividends (PFDs) with nonprofit causes across the state. According to data provided by the Alaska Department of Revenue Permanent Fund Dividend Division, 26,093 Alaskans pledged $2,445,450 to Alaska nonprofit organizations. Total contributions grew 10 percent over last year with almost 3,000 more Alaskans donating through Pick.Click.Give. than in 2012.

Overall, 4.7 percent of Alaskans who filed online for their PFD made a charitable donation using Pick.Click.Give.

Leading causes again include providing food and shelter to Alaskans in need, supporting local public broadcasting, helping families affected by domestic violence and rescuing abused or unwanted animals. Bean’s Café tops the list in fundraising for the second year in a row with pledges totaling $119,750. Rounding out the five highest earning organizations are KSKA with $112,150, Food Bank of Alaska with $72,425, Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis (AWAIC) with $66,125, and Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue with $61,850 pledged.

“Alaskans deserve a huge thank you for showing such generosity,” said Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager Heather Beaty. “This could have been a difficult year for Alaska’s nonprofits because the PFD was on the small side last year. It is heartwarming to see so many Alaskans make generous contributions to the causes we care about when we didn’t have a huge dividend. Even in tough times, Alaskans can be counted on to help their neighbors.”

Many nonprofits stepped up their outreach efforts this year for a shot at winning cash prizes in a new contest offered by the Pick.Click.Give. sponsors. This year, Blood N Fire, Radio Free Palmer, and Kenai Watershed Forum will each be awarded $5,000 for showing the most growth over their 2012 pledge totals. The Alaska Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will receive a $2,500 award for being the top earning organization that was not on the 2012 Pick.Click.Give. list.

Alaskans who used Pick.Click.Give. this year chose from 471 nonprofits in 48 Alaska communities. Lists of how much each organization received in pledges can be viewed sorted alphabetically, by zip code, or by amount pledged.

In 2012, 23,000 Alaskans raised $2.2 million for nonprofits, community foundations, and the University of Alaska campuses through Pick.Click.Give. In 2011, 19,000 Alaskans raised $1.5 million, and in 2010, 9,500 Alaskans donated a total of $927,000. In 2009, the program’s first year, 5,500 people gave $545,000.

ANCHORAGE, March 6, 2013 Generous Alaskans are once again sharing their Permanent Fund Dividends at record setting pace. According to new data released by the State Department of Revenue Permanent Fund Division, 19,627 Alaskans have pledged more than $1.78 million to nonprofit organizations throughout the state. That represents growth of nearly ten percent more funds than had been pledged this time last year.

Alaskans are using Pick.Click.Give. to provide food and shelter to those in need, rescue abused or unwanted animals, and support families affected by domestic violence. Bean’s Café again tops the list in total funds raised, with over $92,000 pledged by Alaskans so far. Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue, which ranks fifth in funds raised with $47,050 pledged, received the second highest number of individual pledges at 1,118. Other top earners thus far are KSKA, Food Bank of Alaska, Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis (AWAIC), and Catholic Social Services.

“Despite a smaller dividend last fall, many Alaskans still feel they can spare $25 or $50 to help a cause they care about,” said Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager Heather Beaty. “These small gifts add up to make a big difference.”

Pick.Click.Give. sponsors are offering a contest this year to reward the organizations that see the most growth in donations. Three nonprofits with the highest percentage growth in pledges will win an additional $5,000 each, and the top earning organization that was not on the Pick.Click.Give. last year will win an additional $2,500.

Alaskans who have already filed for the PFD can still add a donation through Pick.Click.Give. by revisiting their application online. Alaskans who have yet to apply for the 2013 PFD can do so through March 31st.

The 2013 Pick.Click.Give. contributions as of March 4th can be viewed sorted alphabetically by organization name, by zip code of the organization, or by total amount pledged. For information on the final 2012 Pick.Click.Give. pledge amounts, please visit our blog.
